Based on informations received since the previous assessment at 7:00 by IRSN’s emergency centre, informations received from French Embassy in Tokyo, the current assessment of the situation is as follows:<\/p>\n

Informations it has gathered lead IRSN now to fear that very important releases have occurred consequently to the explosion that hit the reactor building on Saturday 12 March 2011. This still needs to be refined from measurement of radioactivity in the environment ; only a few measures are available. At the time of explosion, the dose rate on the boundary of the site seems to have reached 1 mSv\/h ; 12 hours later, dose rate was still 0.040 mSv\/h. These figures must be compared to 0.0001 mSv\/h which is the order of magnitude of natural radioactivity. The value of 1 mSv\/h corresponds to a very important release to the environment.<\/p>\n

\nCeci reste \u00e0 pr\u00e9ciser sur la base de mesures de la radioactivit\u00e9 dansl\u2019environnement ; seules quelques mesures sont actuellement disponibles.
